4th Grade General Studies Teacher, 3rd Grade Math Teacher, & Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, & Justice (DEIBJ) Committee Co-Coordinator

Do you have any pets?

I have 2 Australian Shepherds named Booth (after Agent Booth from Bones) and Barry Allen (after The Flash).

Where did you go to college and what degrees do you have?

UNC-Greensboro— Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Minor in English & Elon University— Master of Education, focusing on Academically Gifted Education

What is something you are particularly passionate about?

Outside of my career, I am passionate about working within communities to figure out how to bridge the gaps with social justice issues and how they are impacting the community as a whole. I, specifically, love working with foster care and adoption programs when possible. My family was built through adoption, so I hold it close to my heart.

I am also very passionate about board games; specifically, Ticket to Ride.

What made you choose to work at B’nai Shalom?

I wanted to belong to a strong, positive community as an educator; as well as, I wanted my children to join a strong community for their preschool and lower/upper school years. B'nai Shalom has been a blessing to myself and my family. I went from looking hard for the joy in my daily career to seeing the joy in each day easily the moment I walk through those doors.
