Admissions Process
Welcome!
Choosing B’nai Shalom means more than selecting an education for your child; it means joining a vibrant, supportive community for your entire family. At B’nai Shalom, we are a kehillah (community) where children are truly seen, known, and celebrated. Our mission, centered on inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, and a deep connection to Jewish values, is woven into everything we do. As you embark on this important educational journey, our Admissions Office is here to guide you every step of the way. We are eager to learn about your family and explore how a B’nai Shalom education can support your aspirations and dreams for the future.
We look forward to speaking with you!
L'Shalom,

Our Admissions Process
We’re excited to get to know your family! The admissions journey at B’nai Shalom begins with a one-on-one meeting with a member of our admissions team. During this conversation, you'll learn more about our school community, and we’ll learn more about your family and educational goals.
Step 1: Schedule a Conversation
Your admissions experience begins with a personalized meeting. After this initial conversation, we’ll help you schedule a tour to see B’nai Shalom in action—there’s no better way to experience the warmth and energy of our school.
Step 2: Apply Online
Complete our online application (which will be supplied to you after your initial admissions conversation) and submit a non-refundable $100 application fee.
Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents
If your child has previously attended a preschool or K–8 program, we’ll need their current school to complete a records release and teacher recommendation forms.
Step 4: Student Visit Day
We invite applicants age 3 and older to spend a day with us. This visit gives your child a chance to experience life at B’nai Shalom and helps ensure a great mutual fit. Students entering Kindergarten or above will also complete a MAP screening to assess both academic and social-emotional readiness.
Step 5: Admission Decision
We offer rolling admissions and aim to notify families within two weeks of completing all steps. Once your child is accepted, you’ll also be eligible to apply for tuition assistance.
We look forward to welcoming your family into our B’nai Shalom community!
As a pluralistic Jewish day school, we are proud of the fact that our families hail from diverse Jewish backgrounds. While many of our students come from families that are Reform, Conservative, or Orthodox, we also have many families who do not identify with a particular denomination. All of our families come together in the desire to ground their children with a strong sense of Jewish values.
As a Jewish day school, we believe it's important for applicants to understand the religious criteria we've established to be eligible for enrollment. While our Preschool is open to students from different religious backgrounds, in order to enroll in our K-8 program applicants must either be Jewish or have attended a Jewish Preschool.
